Welcome to my blog. I have to say right now that I am a complete newbie at this. I've always fancied the idea of blogging and I love writing, but I didn't know what to say. Now I do. I also want to point out that I am really doing this for me. If other people read my posts and get something from them - great, but that's not why I'm doing it. I've never been the sort of person to keep a diary. I'm not that disciplined. I loved the idea of putting my thoughts to paper for future generations to read, but like most of my 'good ideas', I soon got bored and gave up. In our family it is a running joke...'jack o' that', meaning that I had a really brilliant idea and loved dreaming about the end result, but the problem was all the work in between that was needed to make the dream become a reality. I inherited this gene from my Dad, so I'm dumping the blame for this personality fault on him. Thanks a heap Dad!
Having said that, when I am really passionate and determined about something, nothing can stop me. I do have my moments of greatness. My greatest passion is my family. That is my husband and two children. I know that sounds soppy and incredibly cliché, but it's true. Amazingly though, it has taken a while for me to realise and appreciate this. I was late to enter the 'Mummy' market and was never what you call 'maternal'. In my 20's if a bundle of joy was brought into the work place to be paraded around and 'oohed' and 'aahed' at, I ran a mile. Well, I dashed to the kitchen to make a cup of tea and hide. I had no desire to feign admiration on the wrinkly, gurgling lump. Thanks, but no thanks. I did not change a nappy, EVER, until my daughter Zoe was born. I was 36!
So, that gives you a little insight into my psyche. I'll fill in more of the back story as this blog progresses. Hopefully you haven't given up by then and started playing Bubble Witch Saga 2.
