The Bumpy Road Way

This blog chronicles my journey home schooling my son Sam and daughter Zoe. It also shares some of the challenges we face along the way with Sam's learning difficulties. Sam was born with 22Q 11.2 Distal Deletion Syndrome.

The content of this blog are my thoughts and experiences. I have referenced useful websites, books and other sources relating to 22Q 11.2 and educating children with learning disabilities so that people reading this blog can do further reading. The educational and behavioural strategies I am using with my son have come from having discussions with and observing professional teachers, therapists, paediatricians and from many hours of reading recognised research. My expertise is solely with my son Sam and his needs. I do hope my journey inspires and helps other parents, as reading other parent's stories has inspired and helped me. However always consult with your professional support team if you are considering major changes like home schooling.
